About Us

My name is Gregory Robertson. For over twenty years now, I have been working in the animal profession in various capacities. From grooming to training to showing – I love it all.

After graduating High School in 1988, I worked the summer at a Dog/Cat Boarding Kennel. After starting Jr. College in the fall, and taking some core classes, I decided to try my hand at Animal Health Technology (Vet Tech School) and gained some basic knowledge that has stood me in good stead throughout my career. My grooming experience and technical knowledge seemed a good combination for a professional pet sitting business – and that is what I ended up doing – building a successful pet sitting business. Today I own and operate Greg’s Pampered Pets in Black Forest Colorado (just across the Highway from the Air Force Academy outside of Colorado Springs).

For me, this is a wonderful location to raise dogs, and start a professional dog-breeding program. Over the years I have owned a number of dogs i.e., Terrier Mixes, an American Cocker Spaniel, and a Shar-Pei, who had direct lineage from China through his mother. I currently own a show quality English Cocker Spaniel, as well as having co-owned the #3 AKC ranked Labrador Retriever of 2002. (breed & sporting) CH Zafari’s Black Forest Prince of Egypt, CGC (aka: Moses) We lost Moses in 2012 to age. 9/25/98 – 6/22/12. With a keen interest in the intricacies of breeding dogs and the desire to develop a superior breeding line, I selected Weimaraners as my breed of choice. I had rescued a male Weimaraner by the name of Dune many years ago and fell completely in love with the breed. He had Separation Anxiety, and was a handful, but with love and patience he settled in nicely. Unfortunately my rescue “Weim” passed away unexpectedly a few years later, and left a big gaping hole in my heart.

After researching the breed a little more thoroughly, I found the same breeder my previous dog came from, and I purchased “Stokes”. Sargent’s Greystoke of Scots Glen. I was looking for the same high quality that my Labrador Retriever exemplified. At four months old, I enrolled him in conformation show classes and the rest is history – at the age of 10 months he won his first Best of Breed ribbon, and six shows later he earned his Championship Title! His wins include several BOB’s. Stokes was an awesome competitive Weimaraner. When he got in the ring, he just wanted to go, go, go. He moves beautifully, with grace and style. He has a superb headpiece, but most importantly he has an exceptionally fine and steady temperament. This dog is solid, has great substance and presence, is emotionally mature and tractable, and elicits accolades from all who see him.

After much consideration and soul searching, I came to a hard decision not to breed Stokes, or make him available for stud service. Even though he is a great dog, I feel he is not to that superior standard I am looking for to pass on to future generations. Now retired, we will be pursuing new adventures. After a little time off, I brought him out of retirement and put him with a Junior Handler. He is a natural teacher! The breeder I purchased Stokes from is now retired, and no longer breeding.

Ashleigh and Stokes

With a little more work and research, I found a good breeder in my area, and felt it was time to acquire that suitable, and hopefully potential foundation bitch puppy to add to our home and future breeding program – so in July 2008, I purchased Foxfire N’ Scots Glen Silver Trezher. (aka: Ashleigh) In March 2013 we lost Ashleigh to Breast Cancer after getting 5 wonderful puppies from her in June 2012. I am very dedicated to breeding only the best to the best, and only breeding for superior examples of the breed. At Scots Glen Weimaraners, we are committed to breeding strictly to the breed standard.
